The most recent edition of Milano Fashion Week was a new adventure for us. We teamed up with FASHION CHANNEL — a fashion website and YouTube channel — to serve as their special correspondents for the most important fashion shows and events of the week, reporting on the shows as well as interviewing guests and designers. We could be found in the front row and backstage, continually surrounded by extraordinary clothing, by music, and by behind-the-scenes work by designers, make-up artists, and models. But what we want to focus on here are the locations, a location being the outline, the setting, or the place where the designer chooses to first set his or her collection. At Milano we saw fashion shows held in locales as diverse as Palazzo Serbelloni (a historic neoclassical palace in Milano that was used by Blumarine and Trussardi), industrial locations with playful neon sculptures created just for the occasion (used by Missoni and Philippe Plein for their shows), minimalist locations where fashion shows were put on ad hoc (Armani), or themed locations (Elisabetta Franchi, Diesel, and Dolce e Gabbana). Just take a look at the ones we’ve chosen!
